What's new in NetNote 6?

NetNote 6 has numerous new or improved features compared to NetNote 5. Here is a list of the main improvements. If you want more general information about NetNote, please take a tour!

Auto-detection & Auto-configuration of NetNote Server

You don't need to configure all your NetNote Clients to communicate between each other: they find NetNote Server automatically.

And if you move NetNote Server from one PC to another, all your NetNote Clients will detect this change and adapt themselves!

Integrated CallerID

No more external plug-in, the CallerID is now directly integrated in NetNote.

And a new feature has been added: a tooltip appears whenever you get a call, so you don't need to keep the CallerID window opened.

To beneficiate from this feature you need to purchase a CallerID box and to connect it both to your phone lines and your network.

AVImark synchronization button

No more shortcut to remember, if NetNote detects that a note contains information about an AVImark client, it enables a new icon it the note toolbar.

When you click on this new button, NetNote asks AVImark to display the client information in its own window.

(this button acts like the Shift+Ctrl+k shortcuts which still exists)

Instant Messages in a separate area of the note

The instant messages are now separated from the note content.

The split line between the note content and the Instant Messaging area can be moved by the user depending on his needs.

Instant messages are still sent by using the edit field at the bottom of the screen.

The shortcut list for "most used sentences" is still available as soon as you click in the edit field.

Instant Messages saved by NetNote Server

When you send an Instant messages to offline recipients (meaning their NetNote is not running) NetNote Server saves all the exchanged Instant Messages.

These saved messages are delivered to the user next time his NetNote is started.

This behavior is then similar to the note sending process (as notes are saved on the Server if they cannot be delivered).

Completely re-written Alarm feature

The alarm feature has been totally redesigned and offers four major improvements:

New Send window

The send window has also been redesigned and offers five major improvements:

Better 'note received' feedback

A new information icon has been added at the bottom of each note.

When you send a note, this icon reflects the status of the note sending process by showing you:

These notifications are dynamic and change whenever a recipient receive your note.

Recipients saved in models

Sending a note is faster as you can defined default recipients in your models.

When you create a note based on a model with pre-defined recipients, these recipients are automatically selected when you open the Send window. Then you have the choice between immediately sending the note or modifying the recipients list.

You can also use a new model option: 'Send immediately on note creation'. When you create a note based on a model with this option ON, NetNote sends this note immedialtely after its creation.

Main window has been cleaned up

The look of Netnote main window has been slightly changed.

It is now clearer as it's less cluttered with non necessary icons and text.

For example the Priority and Status columns show an icon only for high & low priorities and late or finished status.

Better feedback on a lot of note actions

Most of the actions executed on a note are shown through a transparent icons on the upper right corner of the note.

Depending on the importance of the action, the icon will be displayed between 10 and 30 seconds before disapearing.

These feedbacks are not just eye-candies. They will inform the user which note has been received, which one has received a new Instant Message,...

Miscellaneous improvements

In addition to this dozen major improvements, more than one hundred bugs from NetNote 5 have been corrected.
